However, there were surveys and measurements done in recent times by some of the developers and surveyors who were representing Nepal and China. Hence, they have concluded that due to the shift in the tectonic plates the mountain has possibly grown bigger because the last time it was measured, the length was seen ranging from 29,002 feet above sea level in 1856 down to 20,029 in 1955, as said by the NPR. And now 29,031.69 feet, is what has been the result of the measurement, making it more challenging for the climbers.

People In Thailand Celebrate A Festival To Appreciate Their Monkeys

The monkey buffet festival is celebrated on the last Sunday of every November in the place called Lopburi, Thailand to celebrate the existence of the monkeys. This is mainly celebrated because as per the Sanskrit folklore, it was a monkey who helped the lord Rama to save his bride to be from the trap of a demon who was ten-headed. The monkeys who are residents of the temple called the Phra Prang Sam Yot temple are presented with 4,000 kilograms of fruits, vegetables, and all other sorts of Thai desserts.

The most interesting facts and beautiful thing is that the locals of the place themselves get dressed as monkeys and perform several cultural programs for their esteemed guests and also gobble the lavish feast that gets served on that day.
