Unlike scholarships, which provide financial support for school and college-level education, fellowships provide financial assistance to individuals seeking to advance in their careers after graduation or post-graduation. Depending on the requirements of the program applied for, they might be short-term or long-term. Fellowships are available from both government and commercial organizations, allowing students to get a better understanding of their subjects of interest. 1. Tata innovation fellowship

  • Candidates must be under the age of 55 to be considered.
  • They must have a Ph.D. in Agriculture, Life Sciences, or Veterinary Medicine, or a
  • Master’s degree in Medical Sciences or Biotechnology, or a comparable degree.
  • They must hold permanent employment in a research and development organization, institute, or university.
  • 25,000 INR per month and 6,00,000 INR per year

2. SBI Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship

  • Candidates with a Ph.D. in Banking, Finance, Economics, or Information Technology connected to the BFSI sector are eligible.
  • They must be between the ages of 28 and 40.
  • They must have at least 3 years of post-qualification research/teaching experience in a Premier Institution/University.
  • They must also have a strong academic record and evidence of research abilities.
  • A stipend of up to INR 1 lakh per month and additional advantages

3. IDEX Fellowship

  • Holders with a bachelor’s or master’s degree are eligible.
  • They must have worked for at least one to three years.
  • They must have a track record of assuming leadership roles.
  • They must be enthusiastic about working in or learning about emerging markets, and they must be willing to apply social entrepreneurial ideas to address global concerns.
  • They must be able to adapt fast and operate in resource-limited situations.

4. Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship

  • Candidates with work experience of 4 to 10 years are qualified.
  • They must have a bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Candidates must be under the age of 35 years old.
  • They must be able to communicate in English as well as one of the native languages (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, or Telugu).
  • 35,000 INR per month plus additional perks.

5. CSIP Research Fellowship

  • Indian nationals with a demonstrated interest in charity and related experience are eligible.
  • During the fellowship time, they must be able to do rigorous research.
  • They should be able to generate a publishable-quality working paper.
  • Individual researchers or people who work with tiny grassroots non-profit organizations in India are examples.
  • Monthly income of INR 1,00,000

6. The Institute of Mathematical Sciences Post-Doctoral Fellowships (PDF)

  • Candidates with a Ph.D. in their relevant fields are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have completed and submitted their Ph.D. dissertation are also eligible.
  • Up to INR 40,000 per month and INR 32,000 per year as a contingency grant.

7. Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF)

  • Candidates who apply for a Ph.D. program at one of the PMRF issuing universities through either a direct or lateral entrance route are eligible.
  • For both direct and lateral entrance pathways, they must meet the academic standards.
  • Monthly stipend of up to INR 80,000 and additional benefits.

8. National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

  • Candidates that fall within the ST category are eligible.
  • They must have passed post-graduation.
  • They must be accepted or registered in a full-time MPhil/Ph.D. program at a UGC- accredited school.
  • Students may be eligible for a monthly stipend of up to INR 28,000, as well as additional incentives.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • The candidates must have enrolled in a UG/PG program at one of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ notified and identified institutions.
  • From all sources, the family’s annual income must be less than INR 6 lakh.
  • Full tuition price or up to INR 2.5 lakh in addition to other expenses.

9. UGC National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC)

  • Students in the SC category who are undertaking research leading to an MPhil/Ph.D. degree are eligible.
  • They must have passed either the UGC-NET-JRF or the CSIR-NET-JRF exams.
  • A monthly fellowship of up to INR 35,000 and an annual contingency grant of up to INR 25,000 are available.

10. Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship

  • Candidates with a Ph.D. degree or who are awaiting a Ph.D. degree award are eligible to apply.
  • They need to be well-versed in the areas of forest rights and governance.
  • INR 35,000 fellowship and INR 60,000 contingency grant.

11. HSCST Fellowship Programme

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 55 percent in an MSc or equivalent degree in a science field such as Life Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Science, or Engineering Sciences.
  • They must be under the age of 28.
  • They must have passed the JRF-NET (CSIR/UGC) and LS-NET (CSIR/UGC) tests in the combined CSIR-UGC JRF and LS tests (NET).
  • Up to INR 35,000 per month in addition to other perks.

12. National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities

  • Students with impairments are eligible for the fellowship.
  • They must have been accepted to a recognized university/academic institution to pursue an MPhil/Ph.D. degree.
  • Other bonuses include a monthly stipend of up to INR 28,000 and other perks.

13. Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship

  • Indian citizens working at public-funded institutions in India in various positions in the engineering profession are eligible.
  • They must have sufficient professional qualifications and a bachelor’s degree at the very least.
  • As of the date of the award, they must have a minimum of 5 years of service left in the parent company.
  • INR 25,000 per month in fellowship and other benefits

14. Google Ph.D. Fellowship India Program

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program in an Indian university.
  • They must have graduated from an Indian university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • They must be professionals who work for Indian organizations that are registered.
  • For a period of four years, you will be paid USD 50,000.

15. SERB Ramanujan Fellowship

  • Internationally brilliant scientists or engineers under the age of 40 are eligible.
  • They must have a higher degree or equivalent, such as a Ph.D. in science/engineering, a master’s degree in engineering or technology, or a doctorate in medicine, for example.
  • They must have sufficient work experience.
  • They must have a proven/outstanding track record, as evidenced by publications and awards in the field of study.
  • They must be operating outside of the United States at the time of nomination.
  • INR 1,35,000 per month fellowship and INR 7,00,000 per year research grant.
